Follow the step below to connect to Eagle Wi-Fi. During this process, you will enter information as requested, and make selections about user type, device type, etc. Screen icons, color schemes, and messaging can all be customized by the network administrator.
This guide provides examples with generic screens and messaging, which might be different than what is displayed on the device. This section displays the user prompts for connecting to Eagle Wi-Fi. The sequence of steps for the enrollment differs, depending on access type selected.
Turn on Wi-Fi and your device will display a list of available wireless networks. Select Eagle Wi-Fi from the list. The Welcome screen displays. Click Start to continue. Note: This screen has been customized and may appear differently than the image below. This example follows the Students, Faculty, Staff workflow branch. From the Other Operating Systems tab on the configuration instructions screen, tap the down arrow to download the certificates. Tap Save to download the certificate. Save the certificate with the default name.
The screen displays a brief message to confirm that the download was complete. The certificate is listed in the Downloads folder. Tap the back arrow at the bottom left to return to the configuration instructions screen. Tap the down arrow next to Step 2: Install Your Certificate. After the certificates have been downloaded, you are returned to the configuration instructions screen.
After the certificates have been downloaded to the device, they must be imported to the certificate store. NOTE: The certificate information is not populated on the configuration step until the certificates have been downloaded. Go to the Sy stem Settings for the device.
Tap Security and Privacy to continue. On the Select Certificates screen, locate the Downloads folder. Tap to the Downloads folder to view the certificates available for import.
On the Import Certificate screen, verify that you are importing the CA certificate that was listed on the configuration instructions. Leave the certificate usage restriction settings unchecked. Tap the back arrow at the bottom left to return to the certificate store. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. Click Security Options. Click Advanced Security Options. Click Certificates. Press the Menu key. Click Fetch Certificates. Specify the search criteria.
Click Search. Click a certificate. Click Add Certificate to Key Store. User Guide Security Depending on your organization, enrollment for a certificate might be required and might also occur automatically. When you enroll with a certificate authority profile, the latest certificate is downloaded to your BlackBerry device and added to your certificate list.
The certificate authority profiles shows the status of the certificate. If the certificate is scheduled to expire soon you can re-enroll with the certificate authority profile to receive an updated certificate.
For more information, contact your administrator. If your administrator has provided you with a certificate authority profile, you can enroll with the profile to download a certificate to your BlackBerry device.

To hide the screen for the certificate authority profile while the request is being processed, press the Menu key.

Subject: This field displays information about the certificate subject. Issuer: This field displays information about the certificate issuer.
Serial Number: This field displays the certificate serial number in hexadecimal format. Key Usage: This field displays approved uses of the public key.
