Does it turn a whole tire or one that has been cut in half at the center line? There is a guy who has an ad in the "Farm and Ranch" paper that does tire turning in this part of the country. Man, That's a lot of iron to do the job! Guess it's not surprising when you think of the forces involved in turning a big tire inside out.

Usually farms, turns them nto a feed trough. They have a special machine that does it. It usually comes to farm towns every few months and parks at the coops. Farmers pay them to pull the tires. Still steel. Will still eventually rust out. I'm more worried about one boosting another into it and they mount the bunk and cut thier gut more than anything or rip a side out with the sharp edges on each end.
I don't think they are the fix all catch all solution by no means. I have a machine to turn tractor tires inside out. I bet if I'm lucky 1 out of ten will turn, so there for I turn down alot of side work, and can only do bias.

As far as appearance goes, the turned inside out tires I saw when I was a kid would not attract negative attention at all, like I mentioned in a previous post way up above, they looked just like ancient Greek wine amphoras and like the ancient containers they were painted an earthenware reddish brown and you couldn't tell that they were made from tires unless you looked inside one with the potting soil far enough down to expose the tread and something like "GOODYEAR 7.

They make it sound easy. I can't understand it. You can do this by planting your foot on the bottom and pulling at the top from the far side. Next, place your other foot on the tire and hold down the flattened edge at the bottom with this foot. Now, push the tire over and pull from the opposite side. If your tire is soft enough, it should turn inside out fairly easily. These are better looking than the usual ones. They seem to be seamed. Do you want it on or off of the rim?
Note - If you can use Ply tires. I would like to interest you in our work about tyreplanters. You can see our work on green-tyre. Now as you can see we do a lot of tyreflipping and it is hard work. To make our job easier we invented a machine to do it. This machine is very easy to operate and it can flip a tyre in 3 minutes. Any size tyre is possible, up to the back tyre of a tractor.
